Join the MaineDOT Freeport Laboratory testing team where you will fill a critical role determining the acceptability of materials used on highway and bridge construction projects throughout southern Maine. You will be working in a modern engineering laboratory performing construction materials testing (and related tasks such as equipment calibrations and data management) at a very high quality level. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge as part of an energetic team which values excellence, innovation, collaboration and community while helping to provide the people of Maine with the most reliable transportation system possible. MaineDOT will invest the necessary resources to enable the selected candidate to obtain NETTCP HMA Plant Technician and Soil/Aggregate Lab Technician certifications, if not already certified. Both of these must be obtained within two years of hire.
Five (5) years of experience in engineering ?OR- an Associate Degree in Engineering or a related technical field and three (3) years of experience in engineering -OR- a Bachelors Degree in Engineering or a related technical field and one (1) year of experience in engineering.

The value of State?s share of Employee?s Retirement: 15.37% of salary for BU positions and 20.17% for confidential positions.
The value of State-paid Dental Insurance: $13.13 biweekly. The value of State paid Health Insurance:
Level 1: 100% State Contribution (employee pays nothing): $444.68 biweekly
Level 2: 95% State Contribution (employee pays 5%): $422.45 biweekly
Level 3: 90% State Contribution (employee pays 10%): $400.21 biweekly
Level 4: 85% State Contribution (employee pays 15%): $377.98 biweekly
The level of the actual value of state paid Health Insurance will be based on the employee?s wage rate and status with regard to the health credit premium program.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
