We are currently seeking a Temporary Assistant Corporate Merchant for Signature Women's Apparel (assignment to last approximately 12-16 weeks). In this entry-level position the successful candidate will provide support to achieve sales, gross margin, brand positioning and profit goals of a specific business through the selection, pricing and promotion of merchandise that maximizes the Company's return on investment. Working with leadership to develop and implement category strategy including analysis and appropriate reaction to sales trends in order to maximize business. Communicate with internal partners including Retail Merchandising, Ecommerce, Merchandise Planning, Product Development, Design, Inventory Management and Creative - reinforcing the division's goals and strategies.
Provides input and supports:
Maintains and ensures data integrity for variety of systems
Communicates changes to cross functional partners
Manage photo sample process
Assists in meeting prep with sample and documents
Concept Ideation: Perform market research and assess the competition
Strategic Planning: Participates in strategic planning discussions as a learner
Gather market data and create reports to support assessment of competition - preseason / in season (i.e., ratings and reviews; market basket)
Will compile analysis weekly in excel format at the program, silo and color level - and over time provide takeaways and actions
Compiles and maintains data in support of team
Reviews and reports out on ratings and reviews
Review and provide input to in-season markdowns
Health and Safety Requirement: Ensures compliance with the L.L.Bean Comprehensive Health and Safety program by knowing and following all safety guidelines, policies, procedures and expectations. Take immediate and appropriate action to rectify any unsafe conditions.

Solid analytical skills
Merchandise and institutional process knowledge preferred
Strong oral and written communication skills
Exceptional organizational skills with extreme attention to detail
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while effectively meeting deadlines
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, experience with database utilization
Team player with ability to work effectively with diverse personalities
Must be able to handle difficult situations in a calm, professional manner
Creative problem solving abilities
Flexible in ever-changing, fast paced environment
Associates degree or equivalent preferred

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
