L.L. Bean has a Lead Budget Analyst opening in our Planning and Analysis Department in Freeport Maine . This position is responsible for providing complex analytical support to the Planning and Analysis Department and to other areas of the company as appropriate to achieve L.L. Bean's strategic objectives.
As a member of the Budget team, you will plan, coordinate, execute, and communicate findings of short and long-range analytical projects. Additional duties include using statistical and modeling methods in support of department and corporate decision-making. The ideal candidate will be results oriented with the ability to deliver timely, high quality financial analyses and recommendations.
Possess and consistently apply financial knowledge including knowledge of the income statement, balance sheet, statement of cash flows, ratio analysis, cost benefit analysis, discounted cash flow analysis, and weighted average cost of capital.
Perform complex, detail oriented financial and cost analyses (including forecasting) independently and make recommendations on solutions or approaches as appropriate; consulting with manager on highly complex analyses.
Build, document, and maintain financial models meeting department standards to help inform and drive business decision-making.
Assist finance management in the evaluation of business operations, opportunities and options on both longer-term assignments and on an ad-hoc basis.
Manipulate large datasets.
Maintain current knowledge of appropriate financial and data systems, techniques, and procedures.
Ensure data integrity and delivery of high quality, timely financial information and analysis within the department and to other areas of the company.
Effectively communicate results and recommendations to managers, business partners, and peers through creation and oral presentation of summary tables, memos, and PowerPoint presentations.
Mentoring of less experienced analysts, may include direct supervision of assigned personnel on project related work.
Manage multiple projects effectively, including setting and communicating milestones and timeframes accordingly.
Perform various other research and ad hoc project work, and assume additional related responsibilities as requested
Health and Safety Requirement: Ensures compliance with the L.L.Bean comprehensive Health and Safety program by knowing and following all safety guidelines, policies, procedures and expectations. Takes immediate and appropriate action to rectify any unsafe conditions.
Minimum of 5 to 7 years of business analyst and/or finance experience
B.A./B.S. degree in an analytical field, in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
Background in Accounting field and/or CPA preferred .
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Demonstrated expertise in creation of analytical models that can easily be used and understood by others
Significant knowledge of and experience working with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, financial applications, and modeling tools.
Understanding of and experience with statistical modeling methods

High production and results oriented with little supervision
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Ability to juggle multiple priorities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience presenting to both managers and peers
