Freeport, ME Freeport, ME Full-time Full-time $20 - $26 an hour $20 - $26 an hour 10 days ago 10 days ago 10 days ago Risk Specialist II Freeport, Maine Midcoast Federal Credit Union is seeking an experienced Risk Specialist II to support our Risk Department.
This individual will support the AML/BSA and Risk Management functions of the Credit Union by performing a variety of related duties including fraud monitoring and resolution, administrative support for BSA activity, auditing and reporting, assisting with compliance questions, and providing support and training to employees.
This is a hybrid/remote position; location will be determined by candidate's home address with the expectation of travel to in-office meetings and trainings as requested.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities BSA/AML Program:
Primarily responsible for the daily BSA duties including researching assigned agents, reviewing reports, investigating cases, and making recommendations on further action on cases or suspicious activity, if appropriate.
Stay up to date on all aspects of the BSA/AML software and suggest changes to settings and product enhancements and participate in product and service webinar updates.
Fraud Monitoring:
Primarily responsible for performing a variety of duties to support the security, compliance, and fraud monitoring functions.
maintaining and updating procedures as needed, coordinating work with other departments, and complying with policies and standards established for the compliance/fraud functions.
Additional duties include, reviewing and analyzing system generated reports and alerts for suspicious activity, and researching, reviewing, and monitoring member accounts which includes, new accounts, new loans, ATM, wire and ACH transfers, online banking transactions and card activity to assess levels of risk and identify fraudulent activity.
Analyze fraud trends and patterns and report to the Risk Department to enhance fraud monitoring efforts.
Compliance Management - Provide back-up support for reviewing and responding to employee requests on legal documents including the review of POAs, Estates, Trusts, etc.
Work with the AVP Risk Management on research and attorney correspondence ensuring timely response to branch staff.
Research will require familiarity with various resources and require utilizing prior communications, internal policies, and procedures, etc.
Experience 1-3 years of similar experience.
Education A high school education or GED is required.
